One Boy Just Isn’t Enough (Chapter 15) – Story
Jay was frosty with me all week, he’d pick me up in the morning and drive me home after school. But there was no kisses, or hug, no holding hands or cuddling. I tried to approach the subject of why he was being like this, but he just looked hurt.
Monday the subsequent week, I finally took a stand. I got in his car and stared right at him. “What’s going on Jay, why are you being like this, when I sobbed my heart out for you and told you I loved you last week.” I demanded to know.
He stared at me and his eyes had been deep pits of emotion. “How could you?” He asked, barely above a whisper. “Jay, I don’t understand.” I groaned. He got out his phone and started tapping the keypad.
Then he handed it to me as well as a film was playing on it. I gasped as I saw it was me and John in the classroom. It was the exact moment I screamed “John”.
My hands started to shake and Jay snatched the phone back. “I trusted you with my heart, I loved you so much, I made really like to you, Isobella.” He cried. He put his head in his hands and I knew he was trying not to cry.
Then he composed himself and started up the car. “Jay, it isn’t what it looked like.” I told him. “John was a old boyfriend, he’s living with my Dad now, and he pushed me up on that table and said I had to scream his name for him to release me.” I argued.
Jay parked up at school and got out. “Jay, wait.” I called after him. I ran after him and caught his arm. “Jay, I really like you, only you, I swear.” I pleaded.
He looked at me then looked away. “I’m sorry Isobella, but I think you’ve already broken my heart.” He told me softly. Then he walked away. “Like my little gift to your boyfriend.” Kayla hissed as she swayed past. I stared after her, open mouthed. How could she do that?.
“I told you Izzy, once you start sleeping around, you can’t stop.” Kayla laughed. I slumped against the nearest tree and took deep breaths. I felt lost.
I’d lost the one person that mattered to me. “Isobella get to class.” John barked from above my head. I shot him the finger and stood up. “So I heard you and your toyboy are officially more than, want to come round my bed tonight?” He asked in my ear. I elbowed him the gut, sucking the air out of him.
Then I stormed to class, I didn’t let Jay give me a lift home that day. I walked and then as soon as I got inside my house. I sobbed. Carl hugged me as I told him the whole story. He called the school immediately to report John then sat down with me.
“I suppose you’re going to have to try and win him back.” Carl suggested. “But how?” I asked, wiping my eyes. “That’s your call.” He told me.
I sighed and put my chin in my hands. I needed to think and rapidly.
Jay was a amazing guy, girls would be eager to snap him up.
