Adore 13 – Story

He looked down at me, and I looked at him. He pulled me closer and kissed me again and I didn’t stop him. His hands wandered up my back and towards my bathing suit best strap. He stopped his self and looked at me. I couldn’t appear at him.

I stood back from him and grabbed the towel off the ground. I brushed past him and walked downstairs and back outside to the patio. Blake was standing against the wall. He looked up and spotted me. He walked more than towards me, grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him.

“What’s the matter?”

I looked at him. “What do you mean what’s the matter?”

“You have this passed appear on your face. And you just got up and stormed off. Where’s Shaun by the way? He followed you.”

“Uhh, he did?” I said seeking nervous. He raised an eyebrow. The sliding door. opened and Shaun walked more than. He flashed a appear in our direction and then looked more than in Angela’s direction. She was talking to some girl and Adam.

“Yeah. He did.” He looked at Shaun and then looked at me. “Something happened.”

“Nothing happened.”

“Something between you and Shaun. Um yeah. One thing did happen. And don’t even try to lie. I can smell it on your breath.”

I sighed. “Nothing happened.”

“And there goes that lie I smelled.” I clenched my jaw.

“Let’s go swim. That is what we’re here for right?”

After the party had ended (before one a.m for my mother’s sake), I sat in the kitchen with Shaun. Briana was upstairs taking a shower. Shaun and I had been eating ice cream while he was telling me about what was going on between him and Angela. I was tuning him out mostly, trying to think of how to ask him about him and Briana.

“And then she started bitching about one thing I had said. After I had came from downstairs she had assumed that one thing was going on with Briana and I.” He laughed fakely. “Can you believe that she would say that?”

“Then what did you do upstairs?” I asked tuning back into the conversation.

“I uh went upstairs, convinced Briana not to leave, and then I went to the bathroom. Simple as that. Mom doesn’t want me to pee in the swimming pool.”

“No, but seriously. You and her had been up there an awfully long time. I mean, you could have wizzed in 30 seconds, and talked to her in like 3 minutes.”

“Nothing happened between her and I.”

“That was her answer too. I just don’t believe you two.”

“And what makes you not believe us?”

“Cause I know you two. And I especially know you two. Now tell me whats up before I tell Angela what I think.”

Shaun clenched his jaw and leaned against the wall. He explained to me everything that happened upstairs. He smiled when he mentioned the kiss. I rolled my eyes at him.

“I knew that you two would get back together.”

“We’re not.. It just happened.”

“Well you can’t make me just believe that ‘it just happened,’” I said using little air quotations. “You did it for some reason.”

He looked at me in the eyes. “I was in enjoy with that girl for a long ass time, and her leaving broke my heart. Yeah. I got feelings. And now she’s back into my life, I can’t let her go.”

“I know that you can’t, but if you explain to her why what happened happened, then you can’t just leave her off the deep end cause then you’ll lose her forever. And I don’t wanna see that happen again.”

Just then at that moment, Briana walked downstairs using a long sleeve thermal gray shirt on and some sweats. She looked from me to Shaun. She sighed and pressed her palm to her forehead. “You told him Shaun?”

Shaun looked at her. “How the hell do you realize?”

“Cause the tension?” She said going to the fridge and going by means of it. “And cause Blake was smirking.”

Shaun looked at me and threw the paper towel roll at me. I got up. “Apparently you two need some time alone.”

Blake left once I grabbed the Sunny D out the fridge. I raised an eyebrow and let him leave. I reached in the cabinet and grabbed a glass and set it on the table.

“I think we need to talk a little about what happened earlier,” Shaun said to me. I poured the Sunny D in the cup.

“Okay,” I said putting it back in the fridge. He sat on the counter and I leaned on the wall drinking my drink.

“What happened upstairs..”

“I can only imagine what you’re gonna say after that.” I sighed and did my best male interpretation, “It was just an accident Briana. I of the male species don’t care about why you thought it happened.”

“Yeah, but that is not what I was going to say.”

“You had been gonna say some thing of the sort.”

“Briana dammit, just shut the hell up and listen to me.” I looked up at him and snapped my mouth closed. He sighed and looked around. “I really like you. I haven’t stopped, and I don’t think that I ever will. When we had been kids-” He chuckled. “When we had been children, we didn’t have a damn clue. Now that we’re older, we know what we want, and I know that I want you. That kiss upstairs wasn’t an accident. I was just afraid that it would have went to far. That’s why I stopped. If I didn’t give a damn about Angela’s feelings, I wouldn’t have stopped.”

I looked at him and he looked back at me. His words stung at me. I leaned up from the wall as he jumped off the counter. “I understand.” He raised his eyebrow at me.

“I give you a long ass speech, and you tell me that you understand?”

I looked away, blushing. “You know that I by no means have the right thing to say in these kind of situations. All I know is that I’ve been waiting forever to hear you say that.” I smiled and then rolled my eyes. “Oh God.”

He wrapped his arms around me before I could wipe the fresh tears that had been approaching my eyes.
