Forever My Enjoy (philippines)

I wanted to watch a Filipino movie to increase my Tagalog. Unfortunately, it turned out the DVD did not have an choice for English subtitles. Nonetheless, there’s not considerably dialog, along with the action is extremely self-explanatory, so I doubt I missed much more than a couple of details.

The cover of the DVD is deceptive in yet another way. It makes the movie seem to feature a really like story in between the young couple, Oyo Boy Sotto and Nadine Samonte. That’s present, but is not the main storyline.

The primary story is that of a bit girl we very first see riding a little bicycle about an area close to her residence. We soon see a lot of spooky characters around her, threatening her. This contains a nun holding the hand of just a little girl in a school uniform giving the small girl a actually ugly look.

The girl naturally perceives these ghosts, but studiously ignores them.

Much of the time of this movie consists of watching the girl attempting to ignore the ghosts threatening.

There may be the subplot of the young couple in love. We see them together in a lovely area by a river. Later, for reasons I couldn’t realize (not adequate Tagalog), two thugs shoot the boy and push him into the river. I do not know why they wanted him dead, but I did not want English subtitles to tell me that he was killed.

Then there is a scene where he attends his own funeral, shades of Tom Sawyer — only he really is dead. His mother and father and girlfriend actually are wearing black, staring down at a coffin and crying.

In the meantime, we’ve noticed the small girl lying on her bed beside her mother, talking to the mother, but then the mother gets up with out saying something, and also the rest of the family members (father, mother and small brother) drive away, leaving the little girl residence alone.

She passes the time putting food on a plate for her and her greatest doll. However the ghosts seem to surround the residence and she’s scared out of her thoughts.

Sometimes she remembers attempting to teach her younger brother the way to whistle, and daydreams about per day with her household when her brother was flying a kite.

Finally, she’s rescued from the ghosts by the spirit of the dead young man.

Her family lastly returns property. Though the car breaks down, it’s close towards the girl, and it appears all will probably be well. Until the younger brother runs away from the auto, and sits beside the small girl who’s nonetheless attempting to teach him to whistle.

By this time, I should have realized the gimmick or plot twist, but I guess I’m slow . . .

I located the scene exactly where the mother catches up to the boy and berates him when he protests that he sees his older sister oddly successful . . . when the mother lastly sees the girl, gets very sad, and tells her that she cannot remain.

They both cry, and by then I lastly catch on. Yes, the girl is dead – she’s a ghost herself. That’s why she can see the other ghosts.

After I recovered, I vowed I wouldn’t be fooled like that once more. Nevertheless, I’d planned to watch a second supernatural movie that night, in English, and by coincidence — I swear I couldn’t have planned this — the second movie I’d already planned to watch was . . . drumroll! . . . The Sixth Sense.

And, yes, I was entirely fooled till the finish. The same trick, two nights in a row.
